Shetland
The Shetland
will be discussed separate because of its unique qualities. There are
at least 12 whole colours and 32 markings. The most colourful breed worldwide.
Original the wool was probably long with a short and very soft undere
coat to protect animals from cold and rain. The wool is sheared on the
rise or rooed. There are many varieties, short and crimpy, long and wavy,
very fine and dense and beautiful double coated ones.
